CAMP POLICIES

To ensure that all campers and parents get the most out of our camp programs, we have policies in place to set expectations and maintain safety at all times.

Classes cancelled due to inclement weather, holidays, illness or unforeseeable circumstances will not be rescheduled or refunded.

Allergies

Your child’s safety is one of our highest priorities.  If your child has any food allergies, you will receive a pre-camp copy of our Food Allergy Policy, which will outline the measures we take to keep our campers with food allergies safe.  Campers with food allergies must bring their own snacks and lunches to camp.  We look forward to working together and seeing your family at camp this summer!

Medication

If your child has a food allergy we must have at-least one dose of injectable Epinephrine on the camp location at all times. The Epinephrine and any other medications may be given to the Site Leader before your child’s first day or on the morning of your child’s first day of camp.  Your child’s life-saving medicine will be carried by their counselor and will stay with your child at all times while they are at camp.  Your child’s healthcare provider must complete the Medication Consent Section of the Health History Record for any medications your child may need while at camp. This serves as the “order” for our Camp Medical Personnel should any medications need to be given.

Cancellation policy

Due to the limited enrollment and popularity of the DroneGenius Camp Programs, there are no refunds for any camps within 30 days of your camp start date. We are sorry, but there are no exceptions.  If you feel you will need to cancel your camp enrollment and would like a full refund you must do so by the deadline in writing to admin@dronegenius.org.  DroneGenius reserves the right to cancel summer and specialty camp weeks if the minimum number of students is not met.  We will refund your enrollment fees if an alternative venue or camp-week solution is not available.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

For your child’s safety, we will not be able to permit any child with a food allergy to attend camp without a dose of Epinephrine on-site.  Please double check that the medication you will be providing us does not expire before your child’s last day of camp.

Notifying of illness

DroneGenius should be notified by phone (512) 375-1182 or email if a child is ill, especially if the illness is communicable.  If necessary, the DroneGenius staff will post a notice of communicable illness (confidentiality is respected) to notify the parents of all children that may have been exposed.  Although you may have to remove your child from a few days of camp, families are still responsible for paying tuition for the day(s) of absence.

Completing Camper Forms

All campers must complete the necessary camp forms required by your state in order to participate in DroneGenius Camps.  These forms will be emailed to you.   These are good for one calendar year.  Please email the completed and signed forms to DroneGenius no later than your first scheduled day of camp.

Behavior and Discipline

DroneGenius staff use positive guidance techniques, including logical or natural consequences, redirection of children to more acceptable behavior, anticipation of and elimination of potential problems and encouragement of appropriate behavior rather than comparison, competition or criticism.  Consistent and clear rules are established and set from the first day of each session term.  Counselors encourage pro-social behavior such as cooperation, teamwork, alternating turns and constructive verbal communication to solve problems.  Important Note To Parents/Guardians: DroneGenius reserves the right to dismiss a child for consistent disturbing or disruptive behavior that makes it difficult or impossible for the staff to meet his/her needs and/or the needs of other children in the group. This will occur without a refund (or portion thereof) or credit towards a future program. This will occur only after a 2nd or 3rd communication between the parent and a member of our leadership team has occurred. Warnings will be provided if the Leadership Team believes it could be a concern for future behavior.

Your Agreement

Completing and submitting your Registration Form constitutes your agreement to these policies.  Please retain this email for your records.
